Description
Have you ever tried “banana chips?” They’re pretty common now, though I don’t know why. It seems appropriate to me that they’re called “chips” because they’re about as hard as a poker chip, and just about as tasty, too.
Banana “chips” are what happens when you dehydrate banana slices. But when you freeze dry banana slices instead, the result is in a whole different category. Freeze dried bananas are what banana chips dream of becoming when they die and go to heaven. They’re light and airy, with a pleasant crunch, and the freeze drying process actually concentrates the flavor, making it almost more like a banana than a fresh one. But unlike a fresh banana, these banana slices aren’t slimy – they’re great for snacking right out of the bag. And unlike fresh bananas, they won’t go “bad” for a long time. In fact, if they’re stored under proper conditions in an impervious container, they can last up to 25 years! But that won’t be an issue. These bad boys are so good, you’ll consume the whole bag long before then.
And if you want to go “TO BANANAS AND BEYOND…”, check out our freeze dried smoothie chips. They’re freeze dried bananas all dressed up for a night… um, …in your pantry.
