Description
When you buy a freeze drying machine, one of the things you learn is that there are a few types of food that you can’t freeze dry. The list isn’t very long, but it includes honey, peanut butter, and chocolate. It’s that last one that is so disappointing. Freeze drying does such wonderful things with so many kinds of candy – just imagine what might result if you could do it with chocolate, the king of candy! But alas, it’s not to be. At least according to the experts.
But we never let “impossible” stop us! Here is a beautiful box of assorted freeze dried fine chocolates. Just like the bespoke chocolates you’re used to seeing in specialty shops, these chocolates have an assortment of intriguing, delicious, artisanal fillings, but unlike any other chocolates on earth, these fillings are CRUNCHY with that wonderful, light, freeze-dried crunch!
Flavors include:
Buttermint – we all know that chocolate and mint pair well together, but have you tried buttermint with chocolate?
Coffee – whoever heard of crunchy coffee? Well, here it is – this is your chance! If you want chocolates with the coffee filling, make sure to select the “coffee” variation in your order. Otherwise, you’ll get the mango/passion flavor in place of the coffee flavor.
Mango/Passion – mango is one of my favorite flavors, but the passion fruit we add here really gives it a great kick. And you’ll be amazed to discover how great it is with a velvety chocolate coating! If you want to try this flavor, make sure to order the “mango” variation in your order. Otherwise, you’ll get the coffee flavor in place of this one. Unfortunately, we don’t have boxes with both the coffee and the mango flavors in the same box.
Begonia/Blueberry – I bet you didn’t know that Begonia flowers are edible! That’s right; this chocolate is filled with a center made from blueberries and actual begonia blossoms! And they’re not just edible, they’re delicious – with a vibrant lemony flavor. This flavor is so bright and fruity that it tastes best in a white chocolate coating.
Sugar ‘n Spice – an intriguing blend of spices that we put together – in the chocolate it conjures images of the Orient Express, a Moroccan Bazaar, and Christmas!
Salted Caramel – because in my mind, at least, you can’t hardly have a box of chocolates without at least one that’s a salted caramel flavor. One of the best things you can pair with chocolate, with the possible exception of…
Raspberry – the best possible flavor when blended with chocolate, at least as far as I’m concerned. I think you’ll agree!
Just for the sake of transparency, I’ll point out that the experts are still right: The chocolate coatings in these candies is not freeze dried – it’s applied after the freeze dried centers are formed. The result, though, is a box of chocolates like none you’ll find anywhere else on earth!
