Description
In the Netherlands they make a wonderful cookie-like confection called a Stroopwafel. It’s basically two disks of thin-pressed chewy/crunchy maple-y “waffles” with a layer of caramel sandwiched in between. They like to lay the cookies on top of a steaming cup of coffee, to warm the stroopwafel while the coffee cools.
That’s what they like to do. We like to cut them into triangles and make them into freeze dried stroopwafels. The waffle part of the cookie remains pretty much the same, but the caramel blows up into a big, light and airy, crunchy ball of yummy fluff that dissolves in your mouth.
